Ohio’s Only Female Officials

As of 2019, Fusion defensive lineman, Veronica Sito #72 has joined two other women in becoming Ohio’s only female OHSAA football officials.

The other two, Erin Burnside and Carrie Hall, both played for the Cleveland Fusion as well before turning to officiating.

Over the course of the summer and fall, Sito completed the necessary classes, testing and game experience to earn the Class 1 status. She officiated over 50 football games in 2019 from the peewee to high school varsity level.

To celebrate this honor, Sito was invited to the November 14th Cleveland Browns vs Pittsburgh Steelers game and had the opportunity to speak with Mike Pereira, Vice President NFL Officiating and FOX Sports News Analyst
