In the off season, The Fusion was acquired by TJ Monachino, a 28 year old entrepreneur, who is committed to creating awareness for Women’s Football, and raising the team’s identity as a winning sports team in Northeast Ohio and across the United States. Monachino states “I am committed to making the investment required to make this happen. The Women of the Fusion deserve the spotlight- their athleticism, skills and love of the game should be showcased.”
Monachino has built a roster that includes 10 WFA All-American players returning from the 2016 season and the largest rookie class in recent history. Additionally an investment has been made to expand the coaching staff and facilities to support a championship drive.
The 2017 season includes an exciting home schedule that kicks off with a fellow Central North Division team, the Toledo Reign and familiar in state rivals the COLUMBUS COMETS coming to town in April.
In a Women’s Football Alliance first, Canadian powerhouse Montreal Blitz will travel to Cleveland in May for an international showdown. In June the Cleveland Fusion will end their regular season at home against the West Michigan Mayhem.
