Cleveland Fusion Travels to Detroit for Week 9

Cleveland, Ohio – May 24, 2016 – The Cleveland Fusion will take on the Detroit Dark Angels over Memorial Day weekend on May 28th at John Glenn High School in Westland, Michigan. Last year, the Fusion defeated the Dark Angels 35-0 when the two teams met in Detroit on May 30th.

The Fusion are coming off of a bye week, and are hoping to carry the momentum from their victory over the Columbus Comets on May 14th into the game against Detroit. In the Columbus game, the Fusion defense drew first blood with a pick-six early in the first quarter. From there, the Fusion offense would take over by adding two touchdowns on the ground and one in the air to deliver a final score of 27-8.

The Dark Angels are 3-3 on the season, having defeated the Flint City Riveters 52-0, and the Toledo Reign 12-6 and 8-0. The Dark Angels are averaging 16.3 points per game, while holding their opponents to an average of 25.6 points per game. The driving force behind Detroit’s offensive attack is running back Emilie Halle, who has rushed for 605 yards and has 113 receiving yards for a total of 7 touchdowns so far this season. The Dark Angels are coming into Saturday’s game off of a loss against the Pittsburgh Passion.
